WLFI drops 11% during US midterm election night as Bitcoin rebounds from its early slide. Trump-backed World Liberty Financial's token still finished nearly 5% below its early-evening level. Trump-linked altcoins stayed under pressure.

Official Trump (TRUMP) and Official Melania Meme (MELANIA) also sold off. Traders treated the midterm tape as a risk session for Trump-brand tokens.

WLFI Drops 11% as Political Risk Hits Trump Tokens

As midterm results pointed to Democrats taking control of Congress, traders cut crypto tied to politics. World Liberty Financial lists Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Barron Trump among its co-founders. Shifts in political power feed straight into WLFI sentiment.

WLFI carries political and company risk that Bitcoin does not. Spot demand for BTC can reset after an election-night shock. Tokens tied to a political brand stay priced as political bets. That gap showed up again as Bitcoin bounced while WLFI held most of its evening losses. Spot Bitcoin ETF demand is a separate read on big BTC flow. Recent coverage tracked a US spot Bitcoin ETF build of 79,800 BTC.

Official Trump traded near $1.41 on CoinMarketCap. That was down about 10% in the reported window. The token sits more than 97% below its January 2025 record near $73.43 to $74.27. Official Melania Meme changed hands around $0.072. The cluster move left several Trump-linked tokens soft on the same night.

Justin Sun Sanctions Fight Adds WLFI Pressure

World Liberty Financial also faces fresh legal heat from investor Justin Sun. In a November 3 post on X, Sun said his lawyers moved to sanction the company. He claimed it failed to disclose UAE citizenship until months into his lawsuit. He called himself one of World Liberty's earliest and largest investors. He said he agreed to buy $30 million of WLFI tokens in November 2024. He later raised the total to $45 million under a Token Purchase Agreement.

Sun's sanctions move keeps a live fight in view while the token still trades on politics. Market talk also pointed to thin demand and heavy sell flow in the midterm session. Large sales hit harder when bids are light. Leveraged longs faced extra pressure on the way down.

WLFI closed the midterm window with stacked risks: election politics, soft tape, and a growing investor fight. Bitcoin's rebound did not clear those risks for Trump-linked tokens.
