Franklin Templeton Expands $1.5B BENJI Fund to BNB Chain

  • BNB Chain now hosts 61.71% of Franklin Templeton’s BENJI fund assets by value.
  • Stellar remains foundational, while BENJI continues expanding across multiple blockchains.
  • Franklin Templeton advances tokenized finance through wider institutional blockchain access.

Franklin Templeton has expanded its $1.5 billion BENJI tokenized money market fund to BNB Chain, strengthening its multi-chain strategy. The move makes BNB Chain the largest network supporting the fund while reflecting growing institutional demand for tokenized financial products.

BNB Chain Becomes BENJI’s Largest Blockchain Network

Franklin Templeton has extended its BENJI tokenized money market fund to BNB Chain, expanding investor access through another public blockchain network. The latest integration reinforces the firm’s strategy of distributing regulated investment products across multiple blockchain ecosystems.

According to RWA.xyz data, BNB Chain now hosts approximately $1.5 billion in BENJI-related assets, representing 61.71% of the fund’s distribution. Moreover, the network recorded 1,226% monthly growth, allowing it to overtake Stellar as the platform’s largest blockchain.

Stellar previously held the leading position after supporting Franklin Templeton‘s blockchain-based fund since its launch during 2021. However, the latest figures show BNB Chain now carries the largest allocation as institutional participation continues increasing.

Ethereum ranks third with roughly $159 million in BENJI assets, accounting for about 6.48% of the total distribution. Meanwhile, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, and Aptos collectively represent only a small percentage of the remaining tokenized assets.

Crypto market observers noted that Stellar established the initial infrastructure supporting Franklin Templeton’s tokenization efforts before broader blockchain expansion occurred. Consequently, the company’s platform has evolved into a multi-chain ecosystem serving investors across several public networks.

Tokenized Finance Continues Attracting Institutional Interest

Franklin Templeton has steadily expanded blockchain adoption since launching its blockchain-enabled U.S. registered money market fund several years ago. The company uses blockchain technology to process transactions, record ownership, and improve operational efficiency for eligible investors.

The addition of BNB Chain offers faster transaction processing alongside lower network costs for institutions accessing tokenized investment products. Furthermore, Franklin Templeton continues broadening distribution through partnerships with digital asset companies and financial infrastructure providers.

Recent collaborations include integrations involving Binance, Kraken, and MoonPay, allowing eligible institutional clients to access BENJI for collateral management and investments. These partnerships expand the availability of tokenized money market products across traditional finance and cryptocurrency ecosystems.

The expansion also reflects broader momentum across financial markets as established institutions continue adopting blockchain-based investment infrastructure for regulated assets.

Earlier this week, industry participants reported additional live production trades involving tokenized securities, highlighting continued progress beyond pilot programs.

Franklin Templeton’s latest expansion demonstrates how asset managers increasingly view public blockchains as practical infrastructure for regulated investment products. As tokenization gains wider acceptance, competition among blockchain networks is expected to intensify as they seek institutional financial activity.
