Chromia has finished its Asgard Mainnet Upgrade, which is the transformational update for scaling up the functionality of the platform. It features the Asgard upgrade, A modular framework for enhancing Chromia Extensions, that improves blockchain’s core functionalities. That’s an open system allowing easy additions of specific features tailored to complement the relational architecture for data. It also supports a gas-free economy in Chromia. Therefore, flexibility is given by those extensions, placing Chromia on a vital data-driven path toward blockchain technology.
Oracle and AI extensions enable DeFi and on-chain AI.
One of the first features that is brought into the system is the Oracle Extension, which brings real-time on-chain price feeds updated every second. This extension is a necessity for supporting complex DeFi platforms such as decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, and futures trading. “It’s very important for the expansion and growth of the DeFi ecosystem,” said Ludvig Öberg, VP of Chromia’s Platform Unit.
In the coming Q1 2025, the AI Inference Extension from Chromia will come out. It will be possible for developers to run AI models on the blockchain directly and yet transparently use data in most AI-driven applications. In an interview, Yeou Jie, Head of Business Development, stressed the unique relational blockchain structure enhancing AI data handling and training in transparency. Recently, Chromia has created the Data and AI Division aimed at developing tools to ensure efficient and transparent AI solutions.
The roadmap for the development of Chromia includes integration with centralized exchanges and cross-chain wallets.The Oracle Extension will soon be available for public demonstration, as well as interaction with DeFi protocols.
