The Midwest Bitcoin-ATM network Athena Bitcoin has just announced its acquisition of the web service BitQuick.co. The Dayton, Ohio-based company, now enables users to purchase and sell Bitcoin in a peer-to-peer manner with cash in nearly every state within the United States.
Athena Bitcoin is a company that is proud to add more ways to purchase cryptocurrency on top of its 16 ATMs located nationwide. The Bitcoin-ATM service currently has locations in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, and Texas. Now with its recent acquisition of the platform BitQuick the company can offer the general public an even broader spectrum of buying and selling opportunities. Athena states “this is a dramatic improvement to the traditional, time-consuming transaction methods.” Unlike traditional bank-enabled transactions, there is no waiting, and Athena’s services are near instantaneous the company says in a conversation with Live Bitcoin News. Gil Valentine, co-founder, and COO, Athena Bitcoin expressed his opinion in the announcement:
“The acquisition of BitQuick.co is wholly customer-focused. It allows us to service customers nationwide, and the enhancements to our network will provide an exceptional, swift, secure experience to buyers and sellers of bitcoin,”
BitQuick says it searched extensively for a partnership and began discussions with the Bitcoin ATM provider. After a few conversations, the peer-to-peer website explains that Athena Bitcoin was “the ideal custodian of Bitquick.co’s loyal clientele.” The owner and founder of BitQuick Jad Mubaslat said the acquisition was quite smooth when merging with Athena, and Mubaslat will still maintain his leadership role within the company. Mubaslat believes Athena has a solid reputation within the crypto-industry by providing instant access to cryptocurrency throughout the Midwest. Mubaslat is pleased to operate with Athena and spread mainstream adoption further saying:
“A sale to an experienced player —with a robust KYC/AML program and first-class customer service program—in the Bitcoin space, like Athena Bitcoin, gives BitQuick.co the resources it requires to continue its growth,”
Athena has just recently added its latest Cincinnati location and has been growing quite well over the past couple of years. Valentine is amazed how prosperous things have been this year alone and with the price jumping up people have been purchasing in greater number. The peer-to-peer website BitQuick is also a Boost VC affiliate and also secured with BitGo technology. The founder of Athena Bitcoin’s ATM network Gil Valentine looks forward to working with Mubaslat and the BitQuick team.
