Aptos Expands in Japan with Acquisition of HashPalette

-

Japan has long been a leader in technological innovation, and its adoption of blockchain continues to set the standard for global Web3 initiatives. Aptos Labs has made a bold move into this market with its agreement to acquire HashPalette Inc., a subsidiary of HashPort Inc. and developer of the Palette blockchain. This move proves that Aptos fully focuses on Japan and its emerging blockchain market.

HashPalette already has good working relationships with many of Japan’s leading companies, including KDDI. This acquisition will contribute to reinforcing the company’s presence in the Japanese market and help establish cooperation with some of the country’s most significant enterprises. Once the deal receives all the green lights, this move will help Aptos fulfill its goal of offering adaptive and secure blockchain solutions in sophisticated digital economies.

Aptos Labs to Support Expo 2025 with NFT and Digital Asset Solutions

In the proposal, HashPort will integrate the Palette Chain and its applications into the Aptos Network. This migration is not about shifting from one technical platform to another; it gives Japan’s developers and creators the means to grow their projects internationally. The Palette Chain will be able to expand its ecosystem by leveraging the Aptos capabilities and gain improved scalability, security, and development tools to support local developers in the space.

The plan is to transfer by January 2025, coinciding with Expo 2025 in Osaka. Expo 2025 will attract more than 28 million visitors from April to October 2025. Aptos will be the only blockchain supporting the operations of the EXPO2025 Digital Wallet. With this integration, the Expo can introduce the audience to NFT, digital assets, and Dapp through the wallet offering ticketing, loyalty, and collectibles.

Besides the acquisition, Aptos Labs will partner with HashPort, a blockchain consulting company in Japan. With this partnership, HashPort will be able to continue delivering blockchain services to its corporate customers based on Aptos Network. Combined, both companies want to expand the use of Web3 in Japan.

Aptos is also committed to empowering local developers, NFT artists, and companies to promote the growth of a healthy Web3 ecosystem. The company also intends to partner with universities, research institutions, and startups to create new solutions in the blockchain industry.

With this acquisition and migration, Aptos Labs is positioning itself as a key player in defining the future of Web3 in Japan and beyond.
