Goose Island Beer Company Enters the NFT Space

-

Goose Island Beer Company is entering the non-fungible token (NFT) market and unveiling a new string of crypto collectibles for its customers to enjoy. At the time of writing, the world of NFTs is valued at more than $10 billion.

Goose Island Is Making Its Own Crypto Tokens

The name of the collection will be the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 2022 Barrel House Collection. Todd Ahsmann – president of Goose Island Beer Company – explained in a statement:

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout is not only a local Chicago favorite, but globally known for setting the standard of barrel-aged stouts. Bourbon County Stout has always had its finger on the pulse of culture and evolving consumer trends, so it’s only appropriate we launch our first-ever NFT program.

He believes customers of the company are “passionate” about the growing crypto space, and he wants to ensure they have a chance to invest in something that could potentially give them great wealth and stability in the future. He commented:

We see the Goose Island 2022 Barrel House Collection as an opportunity for first-time and established BCS and new NFT fans to have the opportunity to join a new community and purchase digital collectibles of the beloved BCS brand… These new marketplaces allow us to provide our drinkers with a much richer and deeper brand experience than ever before.

The NFT collection will be made up of 2,200 separate tokens that will celebrate the new Bourbon County Stout’s 30th anniversary. All NFTs are inspired by the brewing processes Goose Island utilizes. The NFTs are presently selling for about $399 each and will present holders with special rewards, incentives, and other surprises – including vintage tastings – according to a company press release.

Ahsmann also said that this is a great opportunity for his company to expand its innovative roots. Continuing his statement, he mentioned:

Innovation’s always been part of our DNA. We wouldn’t be celebrating 30 years of Bourbon County Stout if our brewers hadn’t tried something different, and we strive to bring something new and exciting each BCS season. This Barrel House NFT collection is certainly new for us, and it’s such a cool way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our first batch of Bourbon County Stout. Now our BCS community and NFT fans can collect some digital keepsakes to go with the prestigious beers.

More Rewards the More You Buy

The NFTs will be part of specific tier levels that ultimately unlock more advantages and benefits for customers as they continue to add to their individual collections. Ahsmann concluded with:

This new technology has the potential to change the way we look at everything from sponsorships, partnerships, and creative campaigns.

Portions of the proceeds from NFT sales will go towards nonprofits in Chicago where the company is based.
